 Have you ever imagined a car moving uphill on its own with the engine turned off? 

Sunkar shayad ye kisi jadu ya film ka scene lage, par Ladakh ki Magnetic Hill par ye sach mein hota hai. It is one of the most mysterious places in India.

If you park your car in neutral gear at a specific spot, it starts moving uphill at a speed of 20 km/hr. Bina engine start kiye gaadi ka pahaad par chadhna kisi chamatkar se kam nahi lagta. Local log ise "Himalayan Wonder" bhi kehte hain.

Many people believe that the mountains have a massive magnetic force that pulls vehicles towards them. Kaha jata hai ki ye magnetic field itni strong hai ki Indian Air Force ke pilots bhi yahan se guzarte waqt apne planes ki altitude badha dete hain taaki unhe koi dikkat na ho.

As a Geography student, it is important to understand that this is actually a powerful "Optical Illusion." Asal mein, ye koi chumbakiya (magnetic) shakti nahi, balki hamari aankhon ka ek dhokha hai.

• ​The Illusion: Kyunki wahan koi "Horizon" (kshitij) nahi dikhta, hamara dimaag dhalan ko chadhayi samajh baithta hai. Gravity car ko niche hi kheenchti hai, par humein lagta hai ki wo upar ja rahi hai!
