​The Origin of Lonar Lake:

Lonar Lake, located in Maharashtra, is one of the most unique geographical wonders in the world. Lagbhag 52,000 saal pehle, ek vishaalkay meteorite (ulkapind) 90,000 km/hr ki bhayanak raftaar se dharti se takraya tha.

​This massive impact created a deep crater, which eventually turned into the beautiful lake we see today.

​Scientific Importance:

Scientific point of view se dekhein toh ye jheel bahut khaas hai. It is the world’s only high-velocity impact crater formed in basaltic rock. Iska paani khara (saline) aur alkaline dono hai, jo ki apne aap mein ek bahut bada rahasya (mystery) hai.

​The Pink Water Mystery:

In June 2020, the water of Lonar Lake suddenly turned bright pink! Is chamatkar ne poori duniya ka dhyan apni taraf kheencha. Scientists discovered that this color change was caused by a specific type of salt-loving microbes called 'Haloarchaea'.
